After moving from South Africa to the UK 10 years ago, knowing no one, having no community connections and having a very jaded view of what I was supposed to be doing after this massive move, even from a cultural perspective, I decided I should share just how important community involvement really is.
In this session I will talk about some extremely personal and honest perspectives of what had led me to the current position I am in, how I got here and why I got here. It's not always pretty, but it's real, and that's what's important.
Some key takeaways:
You can be yourself unapologetically and still make it!
You do not need to be the smartest person in the room.
The value of being present and visible.
The value of taking a leap of faith, even though it's scary.
Be available for opportunity.
Why would you want to be a part of this session? For many reasons I guess! To understand where true passion comes from and to inspire a culture of REAL people being able to be themselves and how to recognise a real opportunity, no matter how small it may be.
This session requires around 50 Min with a 10 Min Q&A.
